Decision model glossary

State, criteria, calibration, escalation, fallback, p50 and p95, and other decision-model terms explained in simple language.

The JEV.sk practical glossary

State: the content to be assessed. In our examples, a short message or a product record.

Criteria: the meaning of the options or levels, not just their names.

Probability: the model’s estimate, not a confirmed fact about an individual case.

Confidence: a summary value derived from the distribution across the options; not to be confused with an independent check. S06

Escalation: handing a case over to a human or to another procedure according to a predefined rule.

Observation mode: our name for a test in which the system only proposes a result and does not change real data.

Fallback: a prepared alternative procedure for an error, an outage or an unclear result.

p50 and p95: the median response time and the value below which 95% of the measured response times in a specific sample fall. Without a description of the measurement, these numbers cannot be compared fairly.

Accuracy of the automated portion: the share of correct results among the accepted automatic decisions. We always show it alongside the share of all cases that the system automated.

Total workflow cost: model calls, retries, review, infrastructure and maintenance. For a business, this sum matters more than the isolated price of a single token.

The definitions are simplified for the purposes of this guide; for a technical implementation, use the provider’s exact interface.
